My journey into working with clay started in late 1992 when my second son was six months old. As a beginner, I felt intimidated but also loved the achievement of creating functional ware. I bought my first wheel and practiced at home with mixed results, most ended up in the bucket. My next classes started in 1997 with Deidre, and through her guidance over the years, I have developed a love of working with clay on the wheel.

I have completed two courses in glazing, making my glazes with raw materials and experimenting with different techniques.

I have been tutoring pottery classes for four years, and I love teaching new students. The knowledge I have learned, over the years from helping the students to work through their frustrations and seeing them throwing their first piece has been very satisfying.
